Good God, I didn’t know that LCD panels could come in paper-thin, paper-sized form. But LG Philips shows us that yes, they can! They announced that they’ll be showing off their new 14.3-inch fexible e-paper display at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It’s got 16 million colors, 1,280 x 800 pixels, and thanks to its energy efficiency, 7,000 hours of play time using a typical battery. Instead of glass subtrates, their e-paper display is constructed out of metal foil and plastic, which allows it to bend back to its original shape. Even while bent or viewed from a 180-degree angle, the images stay crisp and clear. Wow, I would love to get my hands on one of these. Hell, a whole roll of it would be awesome - I’d easily have the most kick-ass wallpaper among anyone else I know. Click on the jump for another photo of the e-paper.
